Curious if private yoga is for you? (Hint: It's not just for Hollywood starlets and elite athletes.)

I've been teaching more private students this year. And I'm realizing just how magical these sessions are.
Private yoga allows me to get to know my students in a way that's difficult in a group setting. I can craft deeply meaningful experiences that meet them right where they are and help them get closer to their goals. From less mental stress or physical pain and tension to support through difficult life transitions.
Students tell me they feel better afterwards--less stressed and overwhelmed, looser, lighter. And I feel grateful to interact with students in the intimate setting of their home (or mine).
Private sessions have reinvigorated my passion for sharing the gift of yoga. And I want more of it! :) I love to teach, but also I love to see students getting the attention and support they deserve.
I realize, however, that private yoga may feel out of reach. Or may not be something you've even considered before. So I thought this month I would share a few stories about private yoga, my own experience and of my students (keeping all details, well, private).
I first learned about private yoga sessions from the lead teacher of my YTT-200 program, Jill. I remember thinking, "Private yoga, Jill? That sounds fancy."
I thought only status-conscious Hollywood starlets had private yoga teachers. Or elite athletes. Or someone perfecting complicated contortionist poses from Instagram. Not a caregiver, entrepreneur, and creative on a budget, like me. So I dismissed the idea.
Then COVID hit. I was stressed (we all were) and struggling to get good sleep. I talked to my doctor and therapist. Each helped in their own capacity, but I still struggled to feel rested and settled in my body. So I also booked a private session with Jill.
Jill was kind and listened while I told her about my stress levels and lack of good sleep. At the time, I didn't know much about nervous system regulation. She recommended that I try Yoga Nidra and led me through a meditation.
We had a few sessions together, and I followed her advice. Slowly, my sleep improved (Yoga Nidra is a regular part of my practice to this day.) She also gave me insight into how yoga and meditation could help me manage my stress.
I'm so grateful for the tools and support Jill offered me during a challenging season. She helped me feel less alone and offered yogic tools that had a real impact on my quality of life. Most of all, she helped me see change was possible.
And that's what I offer my own students today. Hope, support, and tools to feel more grounded, less stressed, and to make meaning of their lives.
I've had other private yoga teachers and yoga therapists since Jill. But I hope this small slice of my experience gives you a glimpse into who might work with a private yoga teacher like myself and why.
In my next post, I'll share a few of the stories of my students (without identifying details, of course). I'll also get more specific about my methods, approach, and goals for working with private students.
If you've been considering working with me and would like to give it a try, this is the season to do it and save.
While I've been getting up and running as a private teacher, I've offered huge discounts on packages of private sessions. But I won't be able to offer them forever.
In January, my pricing structure will simplify and change. I want to keep private yoga sessions and working with me accessible. And I need to protect my own energy and respect the value of what yoga teachers and coaches offer.
To keep it simple, if we've never worked together before, you can get four, one-hour private sessions for $180. That's only $45 each (normally $65). (That's about the cost of a medical co-pay for most insurances if you're wondering how I came up with that number.) And since it's the holiday season and you may be purchasing a package as a gift, I'm extending the expiration date on the New Client package (normally six weeks) to three months from December 31st.
This New Client offer is kinda a big deal. It's designed to help you explore working with me privately across a longer period of time, so you can really experience the results. My rates will never be this low again.
If we've worked together before, this is still a great time to book a package of sessions. My 2025 base rate is only $65/session, which is about $20-$30 less than the average price of private sessions being offered out there. (This too will be changing in January.)
I am offering sessions in my studio in Apex or at your home and online. You can purchase sessions for yourself or a friend or family member.
Interested? Let's chat! Set up a free, 15-minute discovery call with me today. We'll discuss schedules and locations, and you can make sure it's a good fit for you and your life before you book. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about yoga and mindful creativity during that 15 minutes as well.
