Let's Build a Daily Journaling + Meditation + Yoga Practice Together

Christa Hogan | MAY 13, 2024

I've kept diaries and journals since I was a kid. But my daily journaling and reflection habit began in earnest nearly two decades ago. Since that time, my routine has changed. What began as a writing journal grew into a mindful art and writing journal. And my daily routine now also includes meditation and yoga (along with my favorite cuppa).

The combination of these three elements--journaling, meditation, yoga-- has strengthened my resilience and connection with my body. It supports my highly sensitive nervous system and gives me space to pursue personal growth on multiple levels, including my creative expression. What took time and discipline to shape, now feels as natural as adding cream and sugar to my coffee.

If you're serious about making meaningful changes in your life, consider starting your own daily routine of journaling, meditation, and yoga. Your life doesn't look like mine, so neither will the final version of your practice. But this is a great place to begin and find out for yourself what fits and what doesn't.

Starting a new habit takes energy you may not have right now, so I've tried to make it as easy as possible with Mindful May. I'm taking the guesswork out of what to include and providing inspiration and support--for FREE. (Donations are accepted and will go to provide a scholarship fund for my in-person retreats in the future.) Over four weeks, we'll build (or recommit to) our daily journaling + meditation + yoga practice. Here's how Mindful May works:

  • We'll meet this Sunday at 7pm for our May Kriative Sangha (my free Zoom community) where I'll teach you a 20-minute yoga stretch and flow, and guide you through a 10-minute meditation.
  • I'll record the session for you to use throughout the entire four weeks. I'll also provide you with a booklet full of writing prompts and mindful art journaling inspiration, including photos.
  • Throughout the month, I'll check in via email with encouragement and support. You can reply to the emails and ask me questions.
  • We'll meet again via Zoom for the June sangha to reflect on the experience and how you can continue to make this practice your own.

That's it! To get started, sign up for the May Kriative Sangha here.

Life is busy and full--which is why taking time every day for yourself is so important and essential to your well being. If it helps, think of a morning routine not as one more thing you have to do, but as the fuel that makes all the rest of it possible and meaningful. And, bonus! It's actually a lot of fun too. I hope you'll join me!
