I'm excited to offer Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) at our March retreat, Sankalpa: Living with Heartfelt Intention. I'm fairly new to the world of Reiki. However, I'm intrigued by the sessions I've had with Master Reiki therapist, Pam Anderson, who will be opening our time together with this energy healing practice. As I realize some of you may also be new to Reiki, I thought I would provide some context:

  • Reiki is an energy-based therapy that provides a means for life force energy, or Chi, to recharge, realign, and rebalance the human energy fields, creating optimal conditions needed by the body’s natural healing system
  • Reiki sessions are non-invasive and take place with participants fully clothed.
  • Sessions can be hands on or off.
  • One scientific review of Reiki therapy studies found that "Reiki is a safe and gentle 'complementary' therapy that activates the parasympathetic nervous system to heal body and mind."
  • There are currently more than 1,000 Reiki programs being used in hospital settings around the US.
  • Reiki is said to help the body relax and better heal from the damage of stress, injury, or disease.
  • Reiki is best used alongside traditional medical practices and not meant to replace them.

And a little about Pam...

Pam Anderson is a dedicated lifetime healer who believes in whole wellness: physical, mental and spiritual. As a healthcare professional, she has had the opportunity to care for people in all stages of life. Pam has spent nearly two decades caring for sick and premature newborns. Complimenting her formal undergraduate nursing education at The University of Pennsylvania and graduate neonatal nursing education at Duke University, Pam has completed coursework in various forms of Complementary Medicine.

My Experience with Pam

I met Pam at my local yoga studio, where we both teach. After hearing about her experience introducing a Reiki program in her hospital system, where she works with premature infants, I decided to try a few sessions. Reiki treatments helped me relax as deeply as a massage or Yoga Nidra. They also reduced performance anxiety and allowed me to make decisions about the direction of my business from a place of connection and clarity. When I started to plan the March retreat, I knew I wanted to offer Reiki to attendees!

Pam is an insightful and nurturing Reiki healer. I highly recommend giving Reiki a try, and you'll have the chance if you sign up for the retreat. If you're not able to make the retreat, you can schedule sessions through Pam's website.

Click on any of the links in above to learn about Reiki healing or do a little research of your own. In my opinion, there's little risk in trying Reiki with an experienced healer like Pam and potentially much to gain!

Registration is now open for Sankalpa: Living with Heartfelt Intention.

Use Code SPRING25 to save $25 now through February 16th.
